The 17 Annual Independent Music Awards recently announced this year’s honorees and Stone Mecca has made the list. His album Alienman is nominated for Best Funk/Jam/Fusion Album. In addition, his music video “Boogeyman” has been nominated for Best Social Action Short Form Video.

The IMAs are produced by Music Resource Group and honors the year’s most exceptional music projects from self-released and indie-label talent from around the globe. In addition, the IMAs connects artists with performance opportunities, promotion, distribution and fans. This year’s judging panels of top recording artists includes: Tom Waits, Lee Ann Womack, Robert Smith, Boyce Avenue, Martha Wash, Ben Lovett and Todd Rundgren, and influential press and talent buyers from all over the world.

Past winners and nominees include Fun., Amy Lee, Killer Mike, Valerie June, Meghan Trainor, Passenger, RuPaul, Jackson Browne, Radio Radio, Masta Ace, Nik West, and JD McPherson.
